National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs to Provide Funding to Avoid Shutdown of Novo Dia Group and Prevent Disruption in SNAP Processing

stakeholder states will not experience any disruption in processing federal nutrition electronic
benefits including SNAP.

September 25, 2015Farmers' Market Nutrition Programs (FMNPs) in the United States and Canada are designed to provide nutrition assistance and nutrition education to low-income families, while supporting and promoting domestic agriculture. This paper examined the current scientific literature on the benefits of the programs to coupon recipients and farmers, as well as the influence of education interventions on nutrition knowledge.
June 16, 2015A comparison in West Central Minnesota found that farmers market prices during peak growing season were highly competitive with regional grocery store prices. This study corroborates findings from a 2010 study conducted by NOFA-VT.
